Todd and Marsha have visited Hockering Church of England Primary Academy School for the last five years. I have invited them to share their faith in both EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Within EYFS and KS1 they have shown us how Jewish people celebrate the Shabbat meal and Passover. The sessions are always hands on. Children are able to join in wearing kippahs, singing Jewish songs, following stories and sample food and drink (which most children like the best!).
Within KS2 I have presented Todd and Marsha with challenging key questions e.g are angels real? Is it right to forgive? They shared their beliefs and allowed time for the children to ask their questions. They explained at a level where the children would be able to understand and relate to but also gave the adults in the room new information to ponder on.
Both Todd and Marsha have a passion, excitement and enthusiasm to share their beliefs and practices with the children. They share practically and constantly change their presentation to help the children to explore stretching key questions from a Jewish perspective. Todd and Marsha are always kind, friendly and very approachable. Thank you for enhancing the teaching of RE at Hockering School and for taking the time to prepare and answer our challenging key questions. I appreciate you both.
